LIFE GROUPS

We are better together!

Life Groups are a place where people can meet together in a variety of social settings to create life long friendships through prayer and fellowship. A great example of how we truly are “Better Together”!

Life Groups start two different times within the year. We have a big kickoff in the Fall where classes will continue until the beginning of December. There is a short break for the Christmas season. The second session begins in mid to late January and continues until the end of May. This allows people to try different groups if they want.

If you have any further questions or would like more information, please email us at questions@churchalivewc.org.

Of course, any questions can also be asked at the Welcome Center on Sundays before and after service.

No matter what stage of life you are in, we here at Church Alive encourage you to join a Life Group!

How do we overcome those battles in our lives that we always seem to be fighting? Learn to overcome the “giants” in your life—the fears and insecurities that keep you from reaching your full potential.

It’s likely you have a threatening giant in your life: an adversary or stronghold that’s diminishing your ability to live a full and free life. Frozen in the grip of rejection, fear, anger, or addiction, we lose sight of the promise God has for our lives. Demoralized and defeated, we settle for far less than his best.

In Goliath Must Fall, pastor Louie Giglio uncovers a newfound twist in the classic story of David and Goliath. It is not God’s plan for you to live with a giant standing in the middle of your life, demoralizing you day after day. Our freedom and God’s glory are forever interwoven into one story. God does want us to live free. He wants us to recognize that He’s already killed the giant.

In Goliath Must Fall, discover:

  • Hope and encouragement that God has a better plan for you—a plan for you to live in victory
  • Powerful insights from the Biblical story of David
  • How to silence your giants once and for all

The key to living free from our giants is not better slingshot accuracy but keeping our eyes on the one and only giant-slayer—Jesus. Once you understand the source of your giants, you can ensure that whatever your affliction is, it can, will, and must fall with the power of Jesus. Put your hope in God and watch Goliath fall.

ONCE UPON A TIME… Marriage was forever. It was a covenant that knit one man and one woman together. This weaving made both stronger, nobler, and more vibrant expressions of who they were created to be. They were better together than either had been on their own.

The wedding ceremony was but a beginning. It was the gateway to build their happily ever after. Each choice and action was designed to construct the life their union represented. Husband and wife walked into the great unknown with hearts, hands, and voices intertwined to express the love of their Creator.

How did we lose touch with this profound love story? In The Story of Marriage, John and Lisa Bevere invite you to rediscover God’s original plan. Whether you’re married, single, or engaged, your story is a part of His

.

This Life Group will create time for:

  • Daily devotionals
  • Questions for group discussion
  • Tools for mapping your dream marriage
  • Steps for writing your story well

Whether you are just starting out or years into the marriage journey, it’s never too late to start building something beautiful. A passionate and fulfilling marriage is possible. The Story of Marriage will help you get there.

Dive Deeper into the Scriptures: Unpacking Sunday’s Message

Each Sunday, we gather to worship and listen to the Word of God proclaimed from our pulpit. These sermons are a source of spiritual nourishment and guidance, but how often do we find ourselves hungry for more, longing to unpack the profound wisdom contained within? That’s where our “Dive Deeper” study comes in.

What to Expect

Our study is not just another Bible study; it’s a communal exploration of God’s Word and a chance to go beyond the surface. We will take the previous Sunday’s message as our starting point, immersing ourselves in the Scriptures that inspired it. Through open and thoughtful discussion, we will unpack the key passages, themes, and practical applications of the sermon.

How It Works

Our weekly gatherings will be both enriching and accessible. We’ll provide study materials that align with the sermon, making it easy to follow along. The format will include group discussions, reflections, and prayer. You can expect an atmosphere of fellowship, where we learn and grow together.

Our Goal

Ultimately, our goal is spiritual transformation. We aim to apply the wisdom of the Scriptures to our daily lives, allowing them to shape our actions, decisions, and relationships. By diving deeper into God’s Word, we hope to draw closer to Him and one another, fostering a stronger, more vibrant church community.

Do you long for an intimate relationship with your Creator, but He seems elusive? Perhaps it is because something utterly essential is missing—the fear of the Lord. Don’t let this frighten you. Fearing God is very different than being afraid of God. It’s the key to everything.

Holy Fear is not a topic you’ll hear much about these days. But if you want to build a faith that stands strong through troubled times, you cannot afford to ignore this study.

In The Awe of God, John Bevere invites you to take a fresh look at what it means to work out your salvation with fear and trembling. This healthy, holy, and largely forgotten virtue is the uncommon path to a more fulfilled and fruitful life. In this study you will see why godly fear is the foundation of:

  • Wisdom, understanding, and knowledge
  • Foresight, clarity, and divine direction
  • Maturity and conformity to the image of Jesus Christ
  • Building an eternal legacy
  • Confidence, fearlessness, and security
  • Freedom from the fear of man as all lesser fears are eclipsed

If you look at the men and women in Scripture, the ones who lived and finish well all have one thing in common: they are marked by holy fear.

The Awe of God was designed to be read slowly and intentionally. There are five tools at the end of each chapter to help you deepen your understanding and apply what the Spirit of God is teaching you.

With this compelling and convicting study, you can experience a revival in your relationship with God, whether you’re new to following Him or have walked with Him for most of your life.
