LIFE GROUPS
We are better together!

Life Groups are a place where people can meet together in a variety of social settings to create life long friendships through prayer and fellowship. A great example of how we truly are “Better Together”!
Life Groups start two different times within the year. We have a big kickoff in the Fall where classes will continue until the beginning of December. There is a short break for the Christmas season. The second session begins in mid to late January and continues until the end of May. This allows people to try different groups if they want.
If you have any further questions or would like more information, please email us at questions@churchalivewc.org.
Of course, any questions can also be asked at the Welcome Center on Sundays before and after service.
No matter what stage of life you are in, we here at Church Alive encourage you to join a Life Group!

Satan is not out to get you to follow him; he’s out to get you to ignore him.
When we spiritually zone out, doze off, fall asleep, we are forgetting that we are in the middle of a war–and Satan loves it this way! He loves to convince people he doesn’t exist. But Satan is real. He is an actual enemy of our soul. He is waging a real war against us. And we need to wake up and get in the fight. If we fail to do this, we do so at our own peril.
In this five-session DVD-driven study, bestselling author Jim Cymbala shows participants how to: (1) Recognize the spiritual wars around them. (2) Understand the enemy’s plots against them. (3) Develop practical strategies for fighting back.
As believers in Christ, we have been given everything we need to stand strong and take the fight to the enemy. As we do, we will recognize, as the apostle Paul writes in 1 Corinthians, that God “gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 15:57).
In the six-session DVD-driven study, bestselling author and pastor Louie Giglio relates how several years ago he experienced one of his toughest seasons as a leader. He was feeling attacked, and in a moment of weakness, he fired off an angry text to a friend. It took him five minutes to compose the message–paragraphs of woe about the one causing harm. The nine-word text back from his friend simply said, “Don’t give the enemy a seat at your table.” Louie relates how this simple text led him to realize that he had been allowing his adversary–the devil–into the conversation going on in his mind. He had, in fact, been giving his enemy a seat at his table. In turn, this led Louie to Psalm 23, one of the most loved texts in all of Scripture that has comforted God’s people throughout the ages.
As we go through this study, we will see we have the power, through Christ, to take back control of our thoughts and emotions. As we uncover the meaning behind the words of Psalm 23, we will discover that God is saying we do not have to give a place to fear, envy, or despair in their lives. Ultimately, we will walk away with practical ways to defeat the enemy’s lies and know how to experience peace and security in the midst of any situation as we learn to listen to voice of their Shepherd.

Barnabas Piper unpacks what faith really means. He shows how embracing doubts and questions can help us to get to know God better, and he encourages us to trust God in our everyday lives, even when we don’t understand everything about him.
This study will encourage Christians seeking to ask questions in a godly way and will give them confidence to trust God, even when some questions remain.
In this six-session DVD-driven study, author Barnabas Piper speaks how all of us have questions about faith, but we often feel awkward or uncomfortable asking them. We assume doubt is always a bad thing. But instead of making Himself smaller and easily understood, God invites us into a larger faith—one that has room for questions, victories, failures, and mystery. This Bible study will help you see that belief in an infinite God by finite humans is an act of exploration. It’s a process of learning all we can understand and trusting God in all we can’t.
The Couples Ministry Life Group meets at Church Alive twice a month. Josh & Suzie explore a wide variety of topics that directly influence todays Christian couples. The group focuses on the areas of how to:
CONNECT Connect with other like-minded married couples.
PREPARE Explore whether you are ready to take the next step to marriage.
HEAL Resources to help move from a hurting marriage to a healed one.
ENRICH All marriages need regular maintenance to THRIVE. Come get a short-term or long-term tune-up.

In “Sunday Recap”, we will examine the previous Sunday’s message.
We will use the outline in the bulletin provided to us from the previous Sunday, along with supplemented discussion questions in order to encourage interactive dialogue so that we can further understand the message.
The group will gather in a home setting, which will also help (couples & singles) in establishing interpersonal relationships. We are “BETTER TOGETHER!”
Along with the study, the group will practice Galatians 6:2, which tells us to; “Bear one another burdens, and so fulfill the “Law Of Christ”.
