Life Groups

We are better together!

Life Groups are a place where people can meet together in a variety of social settings to create life long friendships through prayer and fellowship. A great example of how we truly are “Better Together”!
Life Groups start two different times within the year. We have a big kickoff in the Fall where classes will continue until the beginning of December. There is a short break for the Christmas season. The second session begins in mid to late January and continues until the end of May. This allows people to try different groups if they want.
If you have any further questions or would like more information, please email us at questions@churchalivewc.org.
Of course, any questions can also be asked at the Welcome Center on Sundays before and after service.
No matter what stage of life you are in, we here at Church Alive encourage you to join a Life Group!

It's easy to start a new group, and we're with you every step of the way!

2024 Life Groups

Goliath Must Fall

This will be held for college aged young adults only:
How do we overcome those battles in our lives that we always seem to be fighting? Learn to overcome the “giants” in your life—the fears and insecurities that keep you from reaching your full potential.
It’s likely you have a threatening giant in your life: an adversary or stronghold that’s diminishing your ability to live a full and free life. Frozen in the grip of rejection, fear, anger, or addiction, we lose sight of the promise God has for our lives. Demoralized and defeated, we settle for far less than his best.
In Goliath Must Fall, pastor Louie Giglio uncovers a newfound twist in the classic story of David and Goliath. It is not God’s plan for you to live with a giant standing in the middle of your life, demoralizing you day after day. Our freedom and God’s glory are forever interwoven into one story. God does want us to live free. He wants us to recognize that He’s already killed the giant.
In Goliath Must Fall, discover:
  • Hope and encouragement that God has a better plan for you—a plan for you to live in victory
  • Powerful insights from the Biblical story of David
  • How to silence your giants once and for all
The key to living free from our giants is not better slingshot accuracy but keeping our eyes on the one and only giant-slayer—Jesus. Once you understand the source of your giants, you can ensure that whatever your affliction is, it can, will, and must fall with the power of Jesus. Put your hope in God and watch Goliath fall.

Letters To The Church

Sit with Pastor Francis Chan and be reminded that you are a part of something much bigger than yourself, something sacred.

In his most powerful book yet, Chan digs deep into biblical truth, reflects on his own failures and dreams, and shares stories of ordinary people God is using to change the world.

Chan says, “We’ve strayed so far from what God calls Church. We all know it. We know that what we’re experiencing is radically different from the Church in Scripture. For decades, church leaders like myself have lost sight of the inherent mystery of the Church. We have trained people sitting in the pews to become addicted to lesser things. It’s time for that to change.”

When Jesus returns, will He find us caring for His Bride—even more than for our own lives? Letters to the Church reminds us of how powerful, how glorious the Church once was … and calls us to once again be the Church God intended us to be.

Building Bounce

Let’s face it: Life is hard. We all get overwhelmed at times. But some people seem to bounce back from their upset emotions faster than most. Are they just born happy? Or is there a secret to building emotional resilience that anyone can learn?
Building Bounce explains the theory behind growing emotional resilience and provides practical tools you can use in a variety of settings, such as growing your own emotional capacity, parenting children in ways that build joy, and helping others who live low-joy lives learn the skills that grow joy.
The good news is that wherever you are starting this journey, growth is possible. People used to believe we were victims of the wiring in our brains. We now know that our brains can be rewired. In Building Bounce you will learn how to train your brain by building habits that increase your ability to bounce back from the hard things in life.

Sunday Recap

Dive Deeper into the Scriptures: Unpacking Sunday’s Message
Each Sunday, we gather to worship and listen to the Word of God proclaimed from our pulpit. These sermons are a source of spiritual nourishment and guidance, but how often do we find ourselves hungry for more, longing to unpack the profound wisdom contained within? That’s where our “Dive Deeper” study comes in.
What to Expect
Our study is not just another Bible study; it’s a communal exploration of God’s Word and a chance to go beyond the surface. We will take the previous Sunday’s message as our starting point, immersing ourselves in the Scriptures that inspired it. Through open and thoughtful discussion, we will unpack the key passages, themes, and practical applications of the sermon.
How It Works
Our weekly gatherings will be both enriching and accessible. We’ll provide study materials that align with the sermon, making it easy to follow along. The format will include group discussions, reflections, and prayer. You can expect an atmosphere of fellowship, where we learn and grow together.
Our Goal
Ultimately, our goal is spiritual transformation. We aim to apply the wisdom of the Scriptures to our daily lives, allowing them to shape our actions, decisions, and relationships. By diving deeper into God’s Word, we hope to draw closer to Him and one another, fostering a stronger, more vibrant church community.

Don't Give The Enemy A Seat At Your Table

The Enemy is constantly seeking to fill your mind with destructive and harmful thoughts—whether of fear, worry, insecurity, anxiety, temptation, envy. . . . It’s all too easy for Satan to manipulate his way into a seat at the table intended for only you and Jesus, and to try making himself at home in your mind. It’s an ongoing battle, but one you can win!
In Don’t Give the Enemy a Seat at Your Table, bestselling author and pastor Louie Giglio shares practical ways to overcome the Enemy’s lies and instead find peace and security in any challenging circumstance or situation. By drawing from Psalm 23 as a framework, he offers biblical insight on how to . . .
  • Cancel the lies that will wreck your life.
  • Take empowering steps to live fully alive in Christ.
  • Stop the spiral of shame, temptation, and insecurity.
  • Restore peace and rest in your life.
  • Embrace the true purpose behind your journey through challenging circumstances.
  • Break free from the endless cycle of destructive thinking.
You can find freedom from the war inside your mind—if you allow Jesus, the Good Shepherd, to lead the battle. Learn how to find encouragement, hope, and strength no matter what valleys you face. It’s time to reject the lies and listen to the truth.
